Chopsticks, with plate
Limited edition of 11
Malas wood, lapis lazuli composite inlay, glaze
Chopsticks are a global learning tool for the hand’s coordination and precision.
By introducing a single line into a familiar chopstick form, the design makes orientation and rotation visible. It evokes an urge to align and correct through use.
Rooted in everyday gestures, this design reflects how habits of order and coordination are formed from a Confucian cultural background, turning an unconscious tool into a quiet perceptual device.

Exhibition: Chopsticks 箸
April 21–26, 2026, Via Pietro Giannone 3, Milan Design Week
“CHOPSTICKS 箸” is the first initiative developed by S—3. Curated by Yoko Choy, it brings together 16 creatives from China, Japan, South Korea and beyond to create their own interpretations of chopsticks: 11 product designers and studios exploring context and form, three graphic designers contributing visual responses, and one spatial and one olfactory studio shaping the exhibition experience for its debut at Milan Design Week. S—3 is a platform connecting East Asian design with global ideas and practices, co-founded by Cultural Associates and MANIFESTO.
This exhibition has been featured on Wallpaper, Dezeen, and other websites.
